Unperceivable systems as audible, visible & tangible environments.
Sanja Star develops audiovisual systems that translate sound, signal, and data into evolving perceptual environments. Her work explores how visual form and sonic behaviour are constructed through processes that unfold over time.
Each work is developed as a structured environment instead of a fixed composition. Interaction, feedback, and temporal variation shape how the work changes and responds. Sound, image, and time operate as interconnected elements within a single evolving framework.

Star’s practice is based on the construction of generative systems and perceptual processes. She works with sound, electromagnetic signals, movement, and data as material for translation into audiovisual environments.
Her methodology is based on iterative system construction. Each work is defined through a set of relationships that determine how sound, image, and temporal structures evolve in relation to one another. These processes shape how perceptual form develops over time.
Improvisation functions as a method of exploration within structured frameworks. It allows variation, instability, and deviation to occur within defined compositional conditions.

Installations / Collaborative Live Works
Her works take form as installations, spatial systems, and collaborative live configurations developed with sound artists and musicians. These environments operate in real time, where sound, image, and spatial conditions interact and continuously transform.
Within installation settings, perceptual and environmental elements respond to live input and structural conditions. This creates shifting relationships between presence, sound, and visual form. Some works extend into embodied configurations, incorporating live presence or wearable elements that integrate the body into the system.
