Founded in 2018 by Silvia Sauer & Birgit Wieger, PingPengPerformances became a Berlin–RheinMain quartet in 2023 with the addition of Sanja Star & Ulrike Schwarz. The ensemble specializes in free improvisation across sound, movement, objects, and media, developing performances in a “ping-pong” dialogue around materials or objects, balancing risk and structure.

PAPER fLUX explores paper as material, document, and system of power. Folded, written on, projected, scanned, and transformed, paper interacts in real time with live media, sound, and movement. Each performance is unique, revealing the fragility of materiality and the paradox of ecological and digital consumption. Media acts as a live, improvisational performer, shaping the work as dynamically as any musician, dancer, or object.

PAPER fLUX turns ordinary paper into a stage for reflection, interaction, and performative action.
