Euclid mission

3D Animation with Audio-Reactive Generative Systems | 2023

Euclid mission is a 3D animation artwork that explores the hidden structures of the universe through light, motion, and sound. Inspired by the European Space Agency’s Euclid mission—the first dedicated to studying dark energy and dark matter—the work translates cosmological phenomena into a dynamic audiovisual experience.

The visual environment is fully modeled and animated in 3D, representing abstract cosmic forms, light, and dark structures. Generative behavior emerges through audio reactivity: low-frequency sound signals trigger transformations within the animation. Specific frequencies correspond to universal components—5 Hz for ordinary matter (5%), 25 Hzfor dark matter (25%), and 70 Hz for dark energy (70%)—embedding scientific proportions directly into the system. Motion, light, and spatial structures respond in real time to these signals, producing emergent, unpredictable patterns within the pre-designed environment.

Through immersive, audio-reactive animation, the work invites reflection on the vastness of the universe, the unseen forces that structure it, and the human drive to explore and understand the unknown.

Scientists discovered that the distribution and movement of objects in the Universe, like stars and galaxies, are affected by the presence of two invisible entities that they named dark matter and dark energy… If we want to understand the Universe we live in, we need to learn more about the details of these ‘dark’ entities and uncover their nature.
